I will uninstall Reader if I cannot get this to work. When I try to right click on a file, and select Open with - Choose default program, and I go to select Acrobat, it says "Continue using Acrobat as the default program?" indicating that it is already set as the default program. Like TVJERRY above, I too do not have the option of navigating to Edit menu -> Preferences -> General -> Select as Default PDF Handler, that option does not exist in the Preferences General. Yet when I open a pdf file, it STILL opens with reader! I have done all the above mentioned help, to make Acrobat the default program. I have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, and want it to be the default program to open pdf files, NOT Acrobat Reader DC.
